Executive Team

Geoff Morphy served as a Director of Bitfarms from May 2020 until August 2020 when he joined the executive team as Executive Vice President – Finance, Administration, and Corporate Development. He was promoted to President in December 2020 and COO in December 2021. Mr. Morphy has over 35 years of experience in senior management roles in private and public companies, banks, and corporate advisory firms. He sits on the Board of Android Industries, LLC and R&R REIT, and has previously served on the boards of several private and publicly traded companies located in North America and Europe, including Dundee Sustainable Technologies, Nano Spark Inc., Dundee Sarea Fund, Blue Goose Foods, and the Parq Vancouver Resort & Casino.

Mr. Morphy has a Bachelor of Commerce in finance from Dalhousie University. He also earned his ICD.D accreditation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Jeffrey Lucas has extensive international finance and operational experience with public companies listed on the NYSE and Nasdaq. With experience working in high-yield investment banking and in institutional money management, Jeffrey brings financial insight and strategy to Bitfarms’ team.

Ben Gagnon started building and operating Bitcoin mining facilities in mainland China in 2015.

Ben brings over 6 years of real-world Bitcoin mining experience and is a recognized industry thought leader. His expertise continues to refine Bitfarms’ miner fleet and operational management.

Marc-André Ammann is a CPA Auditor, CA and has over 15 years of experience in finance and senior management positions in public companies listed in Canada and the United States. Marc-André has extensive experience with finance-related functions including financial reporting, corporate accounting, internal controls, financial planning & analysis, IPO preparation, tax, management reporting and cash management.

Benoit Gobeil is a master electrician and started Volta Électrique in 2010. The company serves as Bitfarms’ in-house electrical engineering and maintenance firm. Benoit’s significant experience in project management and his electrical skills are instrumental in his role of keeping our facilities running.

Patricia Osorio is an accredited Colombian lawyer with over 18 years of corporate experience in Canada, including corporate governance roles with activities overseas (Africa and Latin America). She has managed business relations and has supported several transactions. Patricia is fluent in English, French and Spanish.

Damian Polla has 22 years of experience in project and corporate finance. He has previously structured and executed multiple transactions in the energy and infrastructure sectors, primarily in Latin America. Damian’s leadership as a strategist and manager for LATAM operations is valued on the team.

Andrea Keen Souza is a senior human resource professional with over 20 years of international experience in high growth start-ups, scale-ups, and mergers and acquisitions. Andrea is fluent in English, French, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Serving in different corporate finance and management roles, Fortier played an essential role in a variety of transactional and growth initiatives, both as a principal and advisor to private and listed organizations for over 10 years. He has worked at National Bank Financial, BDG & Partners and Deloitte. Fortier holds a BBA from HEC Montreal and a MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is a qualified CPA and is fluent in French, Spanish, and English.

Stephanie Wargo brings 25 years of crypto, finance and technology industry expertise working for rapidly growing financial services companies. Stephanie owns Bitfarm’s marketing strategy, including  content, branding, advertising, media relations, among other responsibilities.

Paul Magrath is a CPA, CA and has over 25 years of experience in senior tax positions at publicly listed, global multinational companies. Paul has extensive experience in international tax and transfer pricing issues, as well as tax planning, tax incentives, accounting for income taxes, and compliance. He is a thought leader in taxation and works regularly with the OECD, Finance Canada and the CRA on sound administration of tax laws through various industry associations.

Guillaume Reeves has been a part of Bitfarms’ programming department since before the Company was known as it is today. His expertise and deep understanding of Bitfarms’ programming and infrastructure departments makes him an invaluable asset as Director of Information Technologies, with over 6 years of experience working in the industry. Guillaume is fluent in English, French, and Spanish.

Jeff Gao has over 10 years of experience in tech entrepreneurship. He has advised a wide range of fintech startups in lean and experimental product development. Jeff brings to Bitfarms his experience as a technical lead in portfolio management, enterprise risk management and derivative securities. He helps develop market-oriented solutions to improve the monetization of Bitfarms' mining infrastructure and production. Jeff has an active research interest in the effectiveness of exchange-listed securities to hedge portfolio and inventory risk.

Jeff holds a B.Com/BIS from the University of Melbourne, a B.Sc/B.Eng from Monash University and has completed the CFA program.
